Physical Wellness and Setting Goals

Physical Wellness is important for us to have because it helps our bodies work right.  If we want to have physical wellness then we have to be active and do things and not sit around.  There are different kinds of physical activity which are flexibility, muscular endurance, muscular strength, and cardiovascular endurance. We also have to eat food that is good for our bodies.

We can set goals to help us have physical wellness.  Goals need to be SMART goals.

Smart
Measurable
Achievable
Realistic
Time Related

One of my goals was to spend more time with my brother every day.  This would also be spending time outside and doing physical activities which would be good for both of us.  We both like to play video games and we need more time exercising.  My goal would include spending an hour with him every day by playing catch, going outside, or playing with the dog.  I want to do it every day through the summer.  This will help us get more exercise and help us spend more time together and not playing video games.

Total Wellness

Our personal health and wellness is important.  It's important because it can help make our life better.

The types of health and wellness are physical wellness, social wellness, mental wellness, and emotional wellness.  Physical wellness is important because we need to exercise and eat good foods. When we don't exercise, our bodies lose energy and muscle.  Exercise gives us energy and makes us feel better.  It's the same with eating good food.  When we eat the right kind of food, our bodies are able to do more things.

Social wellness is relationships with our families, friends, and the people around us.  Our families are the people we see the most and we need to try to have good relationships with them even if it is hard sometimes.  Everyone has a phone these days and we spend a lot of time on them.  It is easier for us to text or snap someone than it is to talk to them.  It is important we spend time with people and have that real time with people.  I like to go to the park with all my friends.  We play baseball and football and laugh and have a lot of fun.  I like it much better than just texting.


Mental wellness is being okay with the people around you and emotional wellness is how you handle the stuff that happens in your life. Sometimes those things that happen can cause stress for you and can hurt your mental or emotional wellness.  There are a lot of things you can do to help with that stress. I think one of the best ways is to talk to others.  Sometimes talking to someone else just helps you calm down.  It's important to do the things we need to to make sure we have good health and wellness.
